The Despacito song was at its peak popularity in 2017, however, 19 mostly Spanish songs made it into the Top 100 as well, and by 2020 there were 41 such songs. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017 shortly after which famous artists started working with reggaeton acts. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) and Madonna collaborated on Medellin with Maluma (2019). In 2020, several Reggaeton artists were complaining about the direction of their genre to the mainstream. Yet, a young generation such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. The genre often incorporated electronic dance, as well as other styles.
